Japanese Food

If we’re going to talk about Japanese food, we have to start with rice. Japanese rice has an unique texture and stickiness. It is one of the most important ingredients in Japan and it has been cultivated in Japan for over 2000 years.
Rice is used to make these products:

Rice Wine, which is known as Sake. Its two main ingredients are rice and water.

Rice vinegar

Snacks like Senbei (rice crackers)

Some popular Rice dishes are:

Rice Bowl

A bowl of plain cooked rice is served with most Japanese meals. For breakfast, it is sometimes mixed with a raw egg and soya sauce. Soya sauce is the most important Japanese condiment and it is used in many Japanese dishes.

Sushi
It’s a food of Japan’s origin and it contains of sushi rice, cooked rice and sushi vinegar.

Some other popular dishes are Ramen and Miso Soup

Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish. "It consists in noodles served in a meat- or fish-based broth, often flavored with soy sauce, and uses toppings."
There are noodles with several flavours and you can find them in any supermarket. The one I really like and totally recommend is this one:
As for sweets! The japanese candies feature unusual flavors, packaging that’s covered with animated figures and exciting graphics... Here are some =)

The Land of the Rising Sun?

That's right, JAPAN! Wasn't expecting that?

The characters that make up Japan's name means "sun-origin", so Japan is referred by that name sometimes!
And as you may expect, in this blog I'm going to talk about this island of Asia. Given that I'm from a country in Europe, its culture attracts me enourmously since it's so different from my own, and perhaps even more interesting I dare to say. And it all started with anime. From watching it, people already get a little notion of some of the things that characterize japan, like its food, etiquette, architecture, music, language ( of course >.< ) and maybe even more.

And from what I've learned from that and from my research, I'm going to post in this blog Japan as I know it, for all of you who aren't familiar with its culture.
